Behind the scenes of Speculations, 2021-2022

In ‘Speculations’ paper constructions and papier-mâché sculptures are layered with projected images to create a new entity with the artist’s presence dominating the space and not the other way around. Filmed in the artist’s studio during days of creating this project, this short documentary gives a unique glimpse into the process of creation of this series & all the perils and joys of making an idea happen.

Medusa’s constellation, 2019

Inspired by the stories of infallible women of the mythical past (starting with Ovid’s Medusa), of women persecuted for alleged witchcraft, with their familiars by their sides, of women who kept their families alive, of the fisherwomen of Dunbar travelling on foot over the Lammermuir Hills, sleeping overnight in the heather to arrive with their baskets in the morning to the market towns on their arrival at sunrise.
